Sometimes the weekend activity that can cause you pain is the very activity that you are doing to prevent pain, exercise. Exercise is always a good thing, but just like anything else, you have to slowly work into it. Don’t over extend your muscles with once a week yoga or Zumba or workout sessions.
If you want to avoid problems, try to exercise more than just once a week. This way your body doesn’t have a chance to get soft. Also, don’t start out too strong. There is no shame in taking it easy in the beginning.
If you are hurting from exercise and stretching then doing more stretches may not always be a good idea. But there are low-impact stretches out there that can help loosen sore muscles like this one.
Knees To Chest Stretch
- Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on floor.
- Slowly bring your knees forward and grab your legs below the kneecap.
- Hold for around 20 seconds and release.
- Repeat this stretch several times.
